Kenton Toys was an American toy manufacturer which developed a reputation for high quality cast iron toys and pistols. The Ohio firm transitioned from a hardware maker to a toy maker in the 1890s, surviving into the early 1950s when the materials for toys relied less upon cast iron, and more on steel and plastics. Its toy portfolio included banks, horse drawn vehicles, stoves, cars, motorcyles, guns, and its famous Overland Circus series to name a few.

Charles Jacobs in his excellent guide notes that a relatively small percentage of its output was marked, making construction techniques a more reliable guide than stamps or labels. He also estimates Kenton Toys unique items between 3,000 - 5,000, but notes that penny toys could bring that number closer to 10,000.
